A movie adaptation of the long awaited “Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya (http://www.sankakucomplex.com/2009/09/11/haruhi-new-season-ends-disappearance-disappears/)” arc has been announced.

The “Shoushitsu” movie is set to be released theatrically in 2010.
Further details will doubtless be revealed in a series of tedious media stunts and viral marketing initiatives, unless Kadokawa has finally purged the production committee of those responsible for the previous debacle (http://www.sankakucomplex.com/2009/08/08/if-we-do-a-haruhi-movie-it%E2%80%99ll-be-endless-eight-again/).
The story, which prominently features megane-Nagato and long-haired Haruhi (http://www.sankakucomplex.com/2008/07/03/new-look-ponytail-haruhi/), was previously supposed to have been included in the “new material” which took the place of a proper Haruhi second season, but Kadokawa and Kyoto Animation evidently felt including all eight episodes of Endless Eight (http://www.sankakucomplex.com/2009/07/31/haruhi-endless-eight-marketing-genius/) took precedence…
