Should Hollywood do anime?

I'm opening this topic to discuss if Hollywood should do anime/manga films.

Recently I read that the new Akira film is going to be based in Manhattan, New York 2010 or something like that. Not like the anime/manga. This made me think if Hollywood should do anime. I'm always open to new idea's and adaptions but messing with the source material like that, it doesn't increase my confidence in the film.

No but IMHO I think one or two american Programs could be done well in japan as anime.
I Want too see a Star trek the next anime!

Terran, if they do a Star Trek anime, it'll probably be like the manga they just did, which was amusing!

I have all three volumes! they can do it just have too get the right writers. and staff

I did read somewhere that paramount were thinking about doing a short anime series for Star Trek. No idea what's happened to that. Probably abandoned.
