Tell us what you're currently reading and if you like a bit about it. Magazines are accepted :P

I'm currently reading like 3 - 5 books...typical of me

1) "Water for Elephants" - Sarah Gruen - When Jacob Jankowski, recently orphaned and suddenly adrift, jumps onto a passing train, he enters a world of freaks, swindlers and misfits in a second-rate circus struggling to survive during the Great Depression.A veterinary student who almost earned his degree, Jacob is put in charge of caring for the circus menagerie. It is there that Jacob meets Marlena, the beautiful equestrienne who is married to August, a charismatic but violently unpredictable animal trainer. Jacob also meets Rosie, an elephant who seems unmanageable until he discovers an unusual way to reach her. (its the book I'm reading for my book club)

2) "Turn around and Run Like Hell" - Joseph Cummings - Reveals stories of deceptions, tactics, and cunning generals succeeding against all odds. This work features brilliant strategists at their creative best in battle tactics that unfold in often odd-ball and always unorthodox narratives. It helps us learn how to exploit an enemy's weak spots and how to fashion weapons out of everything

3) "Kissing Sin" - Kerri Arthur -From Melbourne's gleaming skyscrapers to its edgy nightclubs, Riley Jenson's world is raging with danger and desire. A drop-dead-gorgeous werewolf - with a touch of vampire coursing through her veins - Riley works for an organization created to police the supernatural races. But when she wakes up naked and bruised in a deserted alley, she knows only that she must run for her life. Within moments Riley collides with steely, seductive, Kade, who is fighting a life-and-death battle of his ownand that's when things get really interesting (2nd book in the Riley Jensen series - paranormal romance)

"A Brief History in Time (From the Big Bang to Black Holes)" – Professor Stephen W. Hawking – A Brief History of Time attempts to explain a range of subjects in cosmology, including the Big Bang, black holes and light cones, to the nonspecialist reader. Its main goal is to give an overview of the subject but, unusual for a popular science book, it also attempts to explain some complex mathematics. The author notes that an editor warned him that for every equation in the book the readership would be halved, hence it includes only a single equation: E = mc2. In addition to Hawking's notable abstention from presenting equations, the book also simplifies matters by means of illustrations throughout the text, depicting complex models and diagrams.

The book ends with: "If we find [a unified theory], it would be the ultimate triumph — for then we would know the mind of god".

This book is VERY interesting so far, and enjoyable in the sense that it's easy to understand, as well as capturing the attention of the reader. Simply a must for whoever loves science and astrophysics.

I've finished "The Oxford Companion to the Mind". Most interesting, and a decent reference book to boot. Ergo, it's not bad for 24 years old!

I have three books to peruse!

1) Collins – Latin Dictionary & Grammar: Supplement and reference.

2) Getting Started with Latin: Beginning Latin for Homeschoolers and Self-taught Students of Any Age: Despite no formal training in Latin [I'm an autodidact] I found this book to be very helpful to fill in the gaps of my knowledge. The book's range is from beginner to maven. Therefore, it is ideal for me to plug those gaps!

3) Philip's Planisphere: Northern 51.5 Degrees - British Isles, Northern Europe Northern USA and Canada (Philip's Astronomy): Fascinating and super interesting to hobbyist astronomers and stargazers like me! Enough said!
