Late last year Tomy announced a new Toshinden game for Wii. Screenshots were shown (http://www.siliconera.com/2008/10/21/make-your-own-simple-combos-in-toshinden/), but we haven’t seen or heard about the game since.
Speaking with Tomy USA I learned Toshinden is being planned as a mixed media project similar to .hack. Dream Factory, the developers of Ehrgeiz and Tobal No. 1, are working on the game. A few new pieces of concept art (http://www.takaratomy.co.jp/products/gamesoft/blog/t9730/) appeared on the Toshinden blog, but the game still doesn’t have a release date.
I asked if Tomy USA plans on publishing Toshinden here. A representative said, “we hope to be able to launch it.”
