Tributes from stars and fans have been pouring in for singer Michael Jackson, who has died aged 50 after suffering a cardiac arrest at his Los Angeles home.
Pop star Madonna said: "The world has lost one of its greats, but his music will live on forever."
Fans gathered outside the clinic where he was pronounced dead on Thursday. A post-mortem is taking place on Friday.
Los Angeles police have said the car belonging to a doctor has been towed away from Jackson's home and impounded.
Spokeswoman Karen Rayner said he was not under criminal investigation but the car "may contain medications or other evidence that may assist the coroner in determining the cause of death".
Celebrity gossip website TMZ released audio it said was an emergency call made by someone at Jackson's house.
The person who made the 911 call says a 50-year-old male was being treated by a doctor but was unconscious.

What a sad day. I don't agree his choices in life and his private life, but his music is second to none and was a major influence on my young life. I think the fame just got to his head.

Possibly. I, personally, loved his music (although I no longer have History). Guess a trip to FYE is in order. RIP King of Pop. -_-

I agree. Although I too, do not agree with his choices nothing he did was illegal according to Californian law. He was a bit naive and made some bad choices but I really liked him and his music. His dancing were some of the worlds best. He taught me to dance at an early age too, guess thats why I'm quite good at it. All those sick people out there making jokes are just jealous and twisted and they need a life before insulting a man that has died. R.I.P Michael Jackson & don't forget Farrah Fawcet too R.I.P

Well... I don't really have anything against him (as a matter of fact, I liked Thriller... but that was it), but the only response I could muster in the wake of his death was indifference. He was a unique individual, and he certainly left his mark on society. While he may not have been appreciated or liked by everyone, he garnered quite a following and fanbase. I may not miss you now that you are gone, Michael, but there are undoubtedly millions who do.
