The North American anime distributor FUNimation Entertainment (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/company.php?id=6515) has confirmed that it will screen (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2009-06-12/eva-1.0-film-on-70+n-american-screens-this-summer) the original Evangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=8420) film at Anime Expo today at 5:30 p.m., and in North American theaters this summer. It will then release the updated Evangelion (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=49): 1.01 You Are (Not) Alone version on DVD this fall, followed by the Evangelion: 1.11 You Are (Not) Alone version on DVD and Blu-ray Disc next spring. These staggered releases of the different versions mirror (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2009-02-19/anno-evangelion-2.0-film-slated-for-june-27-in-japan) how the film's versions were released in Japan.
